Somatic Coaching
Cultivate the full intelligence of your body for greater wellbeing, clearer leadership and sustained change.
Who is this for?
Somatic coaching is for values-led people who are capable, committed, and tired of pushing through. You may be successful on paper, but your nervous system is paying the bill—and you’re ready to build more capacity instead of relying on willpower.
Somatic Coaching is for you if…
You’re leading (at work or at home) and feel the strain of constant responsibility
You’re navigating conflict, transition, or high-stakes decisions
You notice burnout cycles, over-functioning, shutdown, or chronic urgency
You want clearer boundaries and more trustworthy “yes/no”
You want impact without self-abandonment
You’re ready to practice between sessions (not just talk about change
The Promise of an Embodied Approach
An embodied approach means we don’t rely on insight alone—we build the nervous system capacity to make new moves when it actually matters. By working with sensation, breath, emotion, and action in real time, change becomes something you can practice and live, not just understand.
Here’s what you can expect to gain through this work:
More presence under pressure (less reactivity, more choice)
Increased capacity for tough conversations without collapse or aggression
Cleaner boundaries and less resentment
A nervous system you can settle - on purpose
More aligned action—moving toward what matters without burnout
A body-based compass for decisions, pacing, and integrity
“Just because we have an insight that we should do something differently does not mean that we can make that new move - especially when we are under pressure.”
— Staci Haines | Author and Director of Methodology at the Strozzi Institute
A proven map to guide the way.
My approach is grounded in the Strozzi Institute’s decades-long somatic methodology—practical, rigorous, and built for real life.
Here’s some of the terrain you can expect to travel…
Somatic Awareness
We start by cultivating your capacity to feel the language of your body. This practice allows you to access your own wisdom, competence, and intuition in a grounded and reliable way.
Somatic Practice
We create new habits of thought and action and expand your emotional range. By "reshaping" your nervous system, you'll be able to stay connected to yourself and others, even in the face of complexity.
Somatic Opening
Old habits and reactions are deeply embedded in our nervous system. We can't simply build new skills on top of old safety strategies. Instead of resisting these old patterns, we learn to acknowledge their intelligence and unwind the habitual responses that no longer serve you.
How it works.
Typical engagement: 10-12 sessions over 5–7 months
Session length: 60–90 minutes
Format: Zoom or in-person
Between sessions: simple practices + real-world experiments (and optional reflection)
1) Discovery Session (30-45 min)
We start with a grounded conversation to clarify what you’re up against and what you most want. Together, we name the pattern that’s showing up under pressure and get a feel for whether somatic coaching is the right next step. You’ll leave with initial clarity and a simple orientation you can begin practicing right away.
3) Coaching Toward the Declaration
From there, each session becomes a place to build capacity toward your Declaration through awareness, practice, and real-world experiments. We track what happens in your body and nervous system when the old strategies show up, and we develop new moves you can reliably access under stress. Between sessions, you’ll practice and apply what we’re building—then we harvest the learning and refine the next step.
If we choose to work together, we craft a clear Declaration—what you are committing to, why it matters, and how you want to be in the process. This becomes our north star: specific enough to guide the work, spacious enough to let real learning emerge. We also identify the key edges, conditions of satisfaction, and the practices that will support new embodiment.
2) Declaring Intent and Focus
4) Completion
Completion is not just “achieving a goal”—it’s being able to live from what you’ve built with more steadiness, choice, and integrity. We consolidate what changed, name what you now trust in yourself, and clarify how you’ll continue practicing so the shift holds. If desired, we also define what the next Declaration is—or we close the container cleanly, with the work complete.

The word Somatics comes from the Greek root soma which means "the living organism in its wholeness." It is the best word we have in English to understand human beings as an integrated mind/body/spirit, and as social, relational beings.

While both aim to support individuals in their personal growth and development, they do so through different approaches. Therapy typically focuses on healing past wounds, addressing mental health concerns, and resolving emotional trauma. On the other hand, coaching is more future-oriented, concentrating on setting and achieving goals, enhancing personal and professional skills, and creating positive change.
